In this post on the Okanagan, I mentioned that one of my main reasons for visiting the Okanagan valley was to cycle the Kettle Valley Railway, the KVR. This old railway was converted to a multi-use trail that is popular as an easy long-distance ride for cyclists. While I didn’t do the entire (almost) loop, I did spend a few days on the trail. The section of the trail that cuts through the Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park is perhaps the most popular. The trestles are massive and cut through seas of forest, connecting the trail across vast drops. Twelve of the trestles were destroyed in a fire in 2003, and restored over the following years.
Anyway, to get back to the point of this post—I made a video! I meant to take a lot more footage while on the trail, but I always manage to convince myself that I have more than I actually do. Well, the result is a (very) short video that I threw together to give you an idea of the area and the trestles. Here it is!
Thanks for watching!
