There’s nothing like a good national park that’s only a three-hour drive away. This past weekend, Tim and I took advantage of the proximity and camped for two nights in Terra Nova National Park. It may not be Newfoundland’s biggest national park (there are only two on the island, and Gros Morne gets that distinction), but the region deserves some recognition.
Not all of the places in the following video are actually in Terra Nova, and technically Terra Nova is adjacent to and not within the Eastport Peninsula.
Here are the places you’ll see:
- Malady Head Trail and lookout (Terra Nova)
- Louis Hills Trail (Terra Nova)
- Sandy Cove Beach (Eastport Peninsula)
- Eastport Beach (Eastport Peninsula)
- Salvage (Eastport Peninsula)

It’s so beautiful – and sunny might I add!
I think you’ll be proud of me Marie, I went hiking this weekend! I actually thought of you when we were starting the hike. Given it was raining most of the time, we were ankle deep in mud and slipping all over the place, I think we did pretty well. We only managed half the hike because the rain got really heavy at one point so we went back, kind of disappointed we didn’t get to the end but next time! I’m also crazy unfit and my legs were screaming at me after hour two, eheh.
Loving your videos! Keep them up 🙂

Thanks so much Chalsie, and I’m so happy to hear that! I don’t blame you for turning back at all, it can be impossible to go on when you’re contending with rain and mud like that. Luckily, hiking is a pretty good way to get fit, as you can tell by the screaming legs 😛
Hi Marie,
Awesome video and awesome production! It looked like the tropics to me ;)….water wise and paradise wise. Definitely adding this area of NF to my watch list. Thanks for sharing!
Ryan
Thanks Ryan!
